Hi All ! I have been trying to troubleshoot this issue; every time I feel I am getting closer but left nowhere. I have a SoundBlaster 5.1 soundcard and multimedia. The OpenSUSE 11.0 recognises the h/w and loads drivers does everything fine for a few minutes. Alsamixer is working fine. PulseAudio manager is going to mode :Connection Refused a few minutes after startup. I have tried removing Pulse and tried to work around through the alsamixer. Bad luck :(. Reformatting and re-installing the OS did help to a great extent but am still short of getting to play audio. I am a newbie to Linux, I have installed it and using it just from last two weeks. I would say am in a lot better position than when all the problems started. bash alsa-info.sh: │ upload=true&script=true&cardinfo= │─ │ !!################################ │ │ !!ALSA Information Script v 0.4.51 │ │ !!################################ │ │ │ │ !!Script ran on: Fri Oct 31 09:14:27 IST 2008 │ │ │ │ │ │ !!Linux Distribution │ │ !!------------------ │ │ │ │ Welcome to openSUSE 11.0 (i586) - Kernel \r (\l). openSUSE 11.0 (i586) │ │ │ │ │ │ !!Kernel Information │ │ !!------------------ │ │ │ │ Kernel release: 2.6.25.18-0.2-default │ │ Operating System: GNU/Linux │ │ Architecture: i686 │ │ Processor: i686 │ │ SMP Enabled: Yes │ │ │ │ │ │ !!ALSA Version │ │ !!------------ │ │ │ │ Driver version: 1.0.16rc2 │ │ Library version: 1.0.16 │ │ Utilities version: 1.0.16 │ │ │ │ │ │ !!Loaded ALSA modules │ │ !!------------------- │ │ │ │ snd_emu10k1x │ │ snd_usb_audio │ │ │ │ │ │ !!Soundcards recognised by ALSA │ │ !!----------------------------- │ │ │ │ 0 [Live ]: EMU10K1X - Dell Sound Blaster Live! │ │ Dell Sound Blaster Live! at 0x2000 irq 24 │ │ 1 [Webcam ]: USB-Audio - AOC Webcam │ │ Suyin ,VC0332 AOC Webcam at usb-0000:00:1d.7-1.4, high speed │ │ │ │ │ │ !!PCI Soundcards installed in the system │ │ !!-------------------------------------- │ │ │ │ 06:01.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs [SB Live!
