it's weird since it didn't happened with xubuntu 7.10. the only reason i'm trying to use opensuse is because Canon iP1000 driver only available for fedora and opensuse.
..and how to setup dsl? in ubuntu it's "pppoeconf" thanks in advance
when apps loads, then the bouncing logo appears. Else it just in 'quicksilver mode'
Which means? In openSUSE there is few desktops, so which one you are using? KDE, GNOME, xfce, fvwm, twm?
What is the video adapter? Nvidia, ATI, something else?
tried yast. went to dsl, set the id and password. but it just won't go online
For this one has to know what is your hardware configuration. What kind of modem is used? There is many and some can be configured with user ID and password and than just connect modem to computer and configure network adapter. Is DSL modem connected to computer with Ethernet (network) cable, or USB?
You don't give many details what you did, step by step, so that guys that have DSL can check what went wrong. Just with what you gave it seems that you didn't configure network card, so that computer can't go online and log in you service provider computer with user ID and password.
