I had looked at the links you gave me, and downloaded the necessary .tar file for my video card. However when I try to install the file I get a message "XFree must be installed". Is XFree not automatically installed when the SVGA or VGA16 servers are installed ? Am I just confusing myself? Thanks again and any help you can throw my way will be appreciated. Go and have a look at the Xfree mirror site at http://xfree86.mirror.aarnet.edu.au/ and see what is your local mirror, they should be able to help with the X component. and most of all, have fun csijon -----Original Message----- From: Mark Annandale <mark_annandale@lineone.net> To: suse-linux-e@suse.com <suse-linux-e@suse.com> Date: Tuesday, December 05, 2000 11:50 PM Subject: [SLE] FW: Tosh Notebooks <p>>
Hi all
Well finally dumped Zimbabwe and moved across to UK, ordered new copy of Suse 7,0 and raring to go.
Has anyone played around with a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4200 laptop. It uses the S3 Savage/Ix w/MV 9294/8/9) video chip. Is this gonna be a headache for me to configure ? Will the built in modem turn out to be a Winmodem or is there a way to get it sorted.
Sorry if these are basic but when the package arrives on Wednesday I wanna get stuck straight in.
Thanks and regards
