fonts are one of the first things people changing from M$ to linux complain about. And one of the reasons is Microsoft has restrictions are their fonts so SuSE can't put them on their CD's.
It's nothing to do with MS fonts, it's the fact that some applications don't use the fonts that have been set up on the desktop, whether they're MS or not.
There is a solution, the fonts are available,
What i did was go into into YaST2 --> "Install and Remove Software" and searched on "fonts". I installed all the font rpms I could find, and in the process I installed a rpm which went out and found the old Microsoft fonts and installed them.
Will the afore-mentioned applications then use these fonts if they're set via the desktop? I doubt it! However, from this link that you sent...
