Well, the FAT32 support is native in the kernel 2.0.34, for other kernels (2.0.30 to 33) you can go to this page and download a patch... <A HREF="http://www-plateau.cs.berkeley.edu/people/chaffee/fat32.html"><A HREF="http://www-plateau.cs.berkeley.edu/people/chaffee/fat32.html</A">http://www-plateau.cs.berkeley.edu/people/chaffee/fat32.html</A</A>> []s Renato Arrudas Ornelas Webmaster da Prover Internet <A HREF="http://www.prover.com.br"><A HREF="http://www.prover.com.br</A">http://www.prover.com.br</A</A>> webmaster@prover.com.br -----Original Message----- From: Brian Jones <brian.jones3@virgin.net> To: <suse-linux-e@suse.com> Date: Segunda-feira, 6 de Julho de 1998 16:45 Subject: Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] update Kernel
300-500K is the size of the executable, 6Mb is the full source tree.
I've got to ask the same question that was posed earlier - is it not possible to copy it from the Windows partition to the Linux one ? Am I right in thinking that it is only kernel 2.0.34+ that supports fat32, if so that might explain a lot.
What is the problem downloading under Linux ? That would be the first thing I'd try to crack & have one less dependance on MS.
Brian.

The kernel is usually 300-500k, there is no way any kernel is 6megs, even uncompressed.

Hi! Micheal,
The file is too large (over 6MB) I can't put it on floppy, How can I move or copy the file?
Thank You Very Much!
Put it on a floppy and mount -t msdos or vfat the floppy

I am a new SuSE and Linux friends, my system was SuSE 5.2 I have download the updated Kernel (SuSE Kernel 2.0.34) by MS Explorer (because I have not set up the ppp of Linux) and put it on the VFAT32 partition (Disk C:) How can I move this kernel file from a VFAT Partition to my linux root partition.
Thank You!
