Try this: Open up a terminal (that way you have full control) su to root and type vi (or pico, whatever) /etc/lilo.conf. try mk_initrd You need scsi module (for example aic7xxx.o) loaded first with initrd, to mount /. look at INITRD_MODULES in /etc/rc.config. look at intrd=/boot/initrd.suse or someting like that in /etc/lilo.conf.
