I know that it is possible to use a downloaded iso file to install opensuse without burning it to a DVD.
You can probably copy it to a USB flash drive. Alternatively, boot from a NET iso, then use the downloaded DVD as an installation via http or NFS.
I was asked by a Window user who is planning to change his OS if it would be possible to do this from a Window environment. Has somebody experience in this respect. The computer has no DVD or CD rom and the USB port is not working right now.
Then there is only booting with PXE, but that requires a suitable environment. (dhcp+tftp). -- Per Jessen, Zürich (18.0°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
