Word Perfect Office 2000 stadard and pro work very nicely on suse 6.4 But , you neet to use a special install.tar script to install it on SuSE and then use a special setupWPO2000.tar script to set it up.
Thanks for the information, but I am looking only for a word processor. Is there an evaluation version of Corel Office 2000?

Yup, there are some bad tarballs out there. I got my last good one from tucows. No errors no nothing, just install and worked. YMMV
The one from tucows failed for me as well. What's going on here? A freshmeat comment suggests that the documentation for installation is incorrect, but its _very_ simple and straight forward.

Greetings,
There has been talk on the list concerning the existence of a wordperfect rpm. For one reason or another, there are complications which prevent it from being distributed in the USA? I cannot locate this rpm on suse's
Linux 2.2.14 not certified. Continue? (y/n) y .. ./install.wp: linux/ins/wpinstg: No such file or directory
This error message here confused me. The file exists, and has the correct permissions! But, when I chdir to that directory and run it ('./wpinstg'), I get the same error! What's up with this? On Sat, May 27, 2000 at 01:51:46AM +1000, Don Hansford wrote:
Office 2000 runs throgh wine
, but its very usable an a P150 and 54 meg ram. Not bad at all for running under wine on such low end hardeware under xfce , it was a lot slower under KDE and WAY slower iunder corel/kde. Runs nicely nder suse and xfce.

Afraid I haven't got a 'good' tarball yet from anywhere but freshmeat! Of course, My Mileage May Vary (since I'm a lead-foot hoon from way back!)
I'll give some other places a try. Corel links to download.com, and so does freshmeat. If a 'good' tarball can be defined as one that will untar, and a 'bad' tarball will spit out some CRC errors, then all the archives I have been downloading are 'good' ones. Perhaps this is a thread best directed toward Corel? -- [-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- adam j henry =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=] | [http: www.heidelberg.edu/~ahenry] [pgp: 0xBD168A74] | | [mailto: ahenry@heidelberg.edu] [icq: 69243836] | [-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=] -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
