If the storage is not a big deal to change, remove it, and put a different one in. If you need Windows for something, such as for a warranty claim, you can switch it back before submitting. Once you know you won't need Windows any more, you can use it as backup storage. To dd an image of Windows first presumes you have a place to put it, and imaging and image restoration are no big deal. It makes more sense to me to invest in another storage device that can be quick changed, and have Windows as a backup at least until the warranty expires. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science.
