Make sure you have modified the default /etc/postfix/main.conf to suit you site. After that it runs almost out of the box. Its first time I heard someone say sendmail is easier than postfix :) Charles wrote:
Well, after easily getting my sendmail configuration setup and running with SuSE 6.2, via the Manual and Yast, I decided to go for Postfix based on things I saw on this list. Well, via Yast, did the install of postfix. Via Yast, updated the postfix rc.config variables. Had to reboot anyway (went to dinner and came back). Postfix started up fine. But no matter what I did, could not send/recieve mail. *sigh*. I am not saying I couldn't have gotten there finally, just that it is SOOOOOO easy for sendmail under SuSE 6.2, and postfix isn't.
