Hi,
I recently compiled my own kernel to enable ACPI suspend to RAM (which is working great now btw). The kernel version I used was 2.6.8.1.
Now. when I boot I get a message saying device mapper could not be started and that module dm_mod could not be loaded.
I tried to figure out what options I must enable in the .config file to compile dm_mod module but could not figure it out. Can someone help me? How serious is this error? and, what am I missing because of lack of device mapper?
thanks, Osho
If everything works, it doesn't matter, I get that here with kernel.org kernels. I don't have RAID, so I haven't configured it in my kernel .config. It's just that the SuSE startup scripts are looking for it. Regards Sid.
Thanks Sid. If I want to get rid of that message, which startup service should be disabled? Or, is it before the services start getting loaded??
thanks, Osho
"chkconfig boot.device-mapper off", "chkconfig boot.device-mapper" says it's on as setup by SuSE. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer =====LINUX ONLY USED HERE=====
