Yes, I mentioned it in my last post (before yours) on this subject. I also posted in bugzilla, but there is not much activity in this bug last two days. I do need printing badly, if you know a way around to make it at least work, I would be very gratefull (or if you are in the position to speed up debugging this one, please do so...)
Is there a reason you want to use the omni driver versus the hplip driver? I would suggest installing hplip (if it isn't installed) and selecting the LJMono driver.
Joe, you rock! It is installed, and yes there was a (silly) reason: when installing the printer in the webinterface of cups, it highlighted default "HP LaserJet" as printermake. There you only find omni drivers. Your suggestion made me look further up in the list, where I found "HP" as make (1 up, was not immediately visible in the default install), and there I could choose the other drivers (foomatic). Now I have it printing. Thanks Joe, for pointing me in the right direction.
