Hello, When I was using SuSE 5.1, I had set up my ppp connection to work with "ppp on" to connect and "ppp off" to end it. I then used a package called "tkppp" which just was a gui front end. It was included in the retail version of 5.1. It worked well, you just clicked "connect" and it would run "ppp on" and then would display "Connected to 32.xxx.xx.xx ", and when you wanted off you clicked "disconnect". If all that you need is a gui frontend to a working ppp setup, try it. You may have it already... Steve Aaron Seelye wrote:

Is it apparent that you get a GUI dialer? I see absolutly no reason to have one...partly because its unneccisary, and because i've never gotten one to work. However, my perl dial script works like a charm.
yes it is necessary. as i said before, im setting a box up for someone who doesn't have the learning curve that most linux users do, so a gui is very helpful
