Hi. Although in SuSE 7.2 I can handle the Euro symbol in text consoles and X, I've tested printing with a file built in binary containing characters 0xA4's (the Euro symbol in ISO 8859-15) and 0x80's (the Euro for Microsoft). Surprisingly, 0x80's showed the Euro symbol, but not the 0xA4's (it showed something like an 'o' with four little marks). Looking in sdb.suse.com, I only found to include a file '/etc/apsfilterrc.y2prn_lp.upp' with contents: ENCODING="ISO-8859-15" (I configured the printer with CUPS, which correctly found it). The printer is an Epson Stylus Color 400 (I suppose a Windows printer). Any idea? BTW, someone figures why Microsoft chose 0x80 for the Euro? TIA.
