For any editor question, XEmacs always has an answer! Hit escape, then drag the mouse to mark the rectangle. The Ctrl-x,r,k to cut the rectangle, and Ctrl-x,r,y to yank it back. I don't know about a copy - look for "rectangle" in the online help.

Could someone suggest me an editor that can copy and paste columns in addition to lines. If Xemacs is one of editors please tell me how.
