Under windiows sytem control panel, I clicked on the modem and then on Drivers and it gave me a list:
UNDER \WINDOWS:
PTCOM.VXD VVOICE.VXD VMODEM.VXD VMM32.VXD
UNDER: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\
VMODEM.VXD PTCTRL.CPL PTVCD.VXD PTSERIAL.VXD
Do you think from this its a winmodem?
If it's a winmodem, and you do a pnpdump >/etc/isapnp.conf; you should get a huge isapnp.conf with about 20 different registers to set up. There is web site somewhere that lists all winmodems by manufacturer. Look at this list's archive, it has been mentioned 3 or 4 times. -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
