Yes, you need to have this defined in rc.config or you will loose it :~) Open Yast (or Yast2) and under System Admin go to Network base config and assign the IP to the interface....if you do not have the interface setup yet, add it one page back on Integrate Hardware and select the correct module etc.... I am trying to assign multiple addresses to my external ethernet card. I am able to do it with ifconfig. The problem is -- I loose them next time when I reboot.
How do I assign them permanently? I am using kernel 2.4(SuSE 7.1)
