Me too, I find SuSE 8 a complete winner. It didn't quite work for me until kde 3.0.1, but now it's cruising along nicely. And a wonderfully easy install. Best Fergus On Friday 28 June 2002 05:11, you wrote:
To tell you the truth, I was sitting on my SuSE 8 for a while now, afraid to try to install it on my Dual Athlon machine. Today I decided to take the plunge.
I still cannot believe how smooth the installation (new installation, not an update) was. It recognized all my SCSI and IDE drives. Allowed me to create the regular and LVM partitions, recognized my Ethernet cards, Geforce 3 video and my Xerox printer. Everything was set up correctly and I was up and running in no time. Unbelievable.
I am yet to see a Windows installation going so smoothly.
