Hi Patrick, If I hadn't done anything to alter my installed programs or libraries and I encountered an "abrupt" error like that, my first inclination would be to boot into rescue mode and verify that my file system hadn't become corrupted. Who knows? Could be a stray neutrino or something like that, right? :-) Also, you didn't mention /how/ you did these installations, but if you're running rpm on the command line, don't forget to run SuSEconfig and ldconfig afterwards or you'll have similar kinds of problems (spoken from experience.) Good luck & regards, - Carl -- _______________________________________________________________________ C. E.
