Now under 10.1, each time it is booted, restarted or even just a new KDE session, the sound is OFF. I can get it working again by going to KMix and finding a slider for VIA*** which is set to -0- whenever the sys starts. Once slid up the sound is back. Is there a way to get this sliders position remembered or locked?
i had a similar problem: after i muted kmix once, it was always muted after each restart, regardless of how often i unmuted it. My solution was a bit odd but it worked: a) Exit KDE. b) Start up with another Windowmanager (e.g., WindowMaker). c) Start kmix and adjust the settings. d) Exit kmix. e) Exit your windowmanager f) Go back to KDE. i hope this helps. -- ----- stephan@s11n.net http://s11n.net "...pleasure is a grace and is not obedient to the commands of the will." -- Alan W.
