scanlogd

How do I use scanlogd on a SuSE 7.2? In which log file can I read port scans? I tried to set on /etc/rc.config the variable to start scanlogd to yes. When booting or calling rcscanlogd it prints the message "starting" in green... Then I try with "rcscanlogd status" and I get "unused". Is there any document about it? I looked into /usr/share/doc/packages/scanlogd and also man pages but haven't found any information on how to configure it on SuSE 7.2. Thanks.
