Thanks for the note, now can you tell me how it's done? I ordered 8.0 , used "cp * -Rv /hda11/suse8.0
it shows up in the installation but when I select /hda11 it gives the error, no installation medium found, if I go to another scree the error says /hda11/:no such device
'cp *' won't copy the dot files which contain the version info. The safe way to do this is: (cd /cdrom && tar cf - .) | (cd /hda11/suse8.0 && tar xvfp -) The following SDB article explains how to setup a local NFS/ftp server: http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/daniel_ftpinst_local.html -- -ckm
