I too have no sound in Xboing. Also none in kde. But that is a kde prob. Terry Eck wrote:
I asked for help concerning sound support under SuSE 5.2 before. Sound for most programs was working with my custom compiled kernel (had sound compiled in). Someone suggested that sound works better as a module so I reverted back to the original kernel supplied with SuSE 5.2. Went into /usr/src/linux.../sound and compiled (after reading several Readme files). I have a non-pnp soundblaster 16. I copied the file sound.o to the modules tree and sure enough when I run a program requiring sound the module is loaded automagicly and sound plays. This is all great, as far as it goes.
I still cannot get sound with xboing. I know sounds should be heard with xboing. Here is the question I hope someone will be kind enough to answer:
Does sound work for you when you play xboing?
If the answer is yes could you please add details as to you configuration. If the answer is no (and other programs produce sound) then please also response. This way I can stop trying to get sound to work.
Thanks for your time, Terry
