To be honest - I don't know. I don't know what type of "inks" lasers use but the b/w laser I have uses some sort of black powder. I assume therefore that colour lasers would also use same which I assume would be pigmented powder and which is why laser cartridges cost and arm and a leg. BUT, I do NOT know. What does Wikipedia state about this?
