I suppose you'll have problems with the install. SuSE requires 8 MB now. There were earlier versions (think up to SuSE 4.2 or 4.3) that worked on 4 MB. But you had to define and activate a swap partition prior to installation.
YaST is even kind enough to tell you to switch to another virtual terminal and add a swap partition. (So out came the "Running Linux" book.) I just installed SuSE 5.3 on a 386 with 5MB. Took almost five hours to install 86 packages.
