The problem was still there, so obviously it was not something wrong with the player, but with the MP3 CD's. I then tried to burn another mp3 CD on my son's win98 box (Nero) and found that it played just fine.
I just don't understand what the problem is. The Sony user manual says CDR's should be created using these specs: ISO 9660 level 1 or 2, Joliet or Romeo. So I just compile a data cd with Joliet extensions. But why the jumpy sound? I have tried about every possible option, but I still get the problem.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Using Nero I never had a problem, but when I started using K3b I had a similar problem with mp3/audio cd's. I found that slowing the burn speed way down stopped it. In Nero, I could burn audio & mp3data at x16 on my Plextor. In K3b I now burn audio at x4 and mp3/data at x8. You might want to try that, as it worked for me. The Joilet works fine for me excpet for one bit of weirdness. On Windows pc's it is read perfectly, but on my G4 macs, all file names are caps only. Haven't figured out why yet, as Nero doesn't do that to me. -Trey
