[SLE] Epson Expression 636 Scanner

Hi, Is Epson Expression 636 (SCSI) scanner supported on SuSE? I am trying to use one. It is detected by SCSI and when I tried to configure it in Yast by selecting "Epson" as scanner type, it said that the device is not a scanner. I asked it to accept it anyway to create the /dev/scanner link. Now if I use scanimage, it complains that it cannot open the /dev/scanner device. What is the problem?
