Just an update to this. If I log in as root (or su before running yast2) everything is ok. In the past, YaST2 would prompt for the root password. On 12 Aug 2002 at 9:44, Jerry Feldman wrote:
Both of my laptops are running SuSE8.0 with the latest updates. The problem is the YaST2 control center comes up with a blank panel making it totally unusable. (eg. the left panel with the buttons appears, but the right panel where you would select Online Update et. al. is empty). However, I can easily select and perform YaST2 functions via the KDE control center or from the Preferences/YaST2 modules menu.
Additionally, when YaST2 completes its task, the last panel is blank. Again, not a problem since everything is usable. -- Jerry Feldman Enterprise Systems Group Hewlett-Packard Company 200 Forest Street MRO1-3/F1 Marlboro, Ma. 01752 508-467-4315 http://www.testdrive.compaq.com/linux/
