You can kill them all:
# killall -v gvfs-mtp-volume-monitor # killall -v gvfsd-mtp # killall -v mtp.so
/IF/ you have "gvfs*" running, then forget about simple-mtpfs, because there are easier ways.
Just open the phone with Nautilus or Thunar, and the phone will appear under the "/run/user/1000/gvfs/" tree.
i use kde so i do not think gvfs is running, but it is installed. so next time i have a phone here, i have to check what has access from kde to the mtp and will kill that process. simoN
