I'm using SLES 8 and I cannot change NIS passwords using yppasswd and the root account on the NIS server. In reading this thread, http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/2004-Apr/1115.html, I've found that this is /by design/. Commercial UNIX variants (Sun and HP-UX) allow root on the NIS master to change NIS passwords. Is there any way I can make this happen on SuSE Linux 8? Rob A.
