This got rid of the <sqlinit: DBROOT must be set !!!> problem, as apache was now built without module support for ADABAS D - why did SuSE make YaST do that !! However now i dont get apache to run as a standalone server, but only as a inetd daemon. This actually is ok, but i would really like to get apache running standalone simply because it should :-) When set up as standalone, connecting clients get a <document contains no data!> alert. Telneting on port 80 - connection is refused. the apache error_log tells me: httpd: [Fri Mar 5 09:07:47 1999] [crit] (98)Adress already in use: make_sock: could not bind to port 80 does anyone know what the problem is ? thanks a lot. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
