Hello, Little KDE problem this morning on my laptop: Here follows part of .X.err XFree86 Version 4.2.0 / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600) Build Operating System: SuSE Linux [ELF] SuSE Module Loader present Markers: (--) probed, (**) from config file, (==) default setting, (++) from command line, (!!) notice, (II) informational, (WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown. (==) Log file: "/var/log/XFree86.0.log", Time: Mon Dec 29 11:50:25 2003 (==) Using config file: "/etc/X11/XF86Config" failed to open catalog, using default messages BScreen::BScreen: managing screen 0 using visual 0x23, depth 16 gimp: Chargement de la palette /home/alain/.gimp-1.2/palettes/Web (ligne 219) : composante ROUGE manquante gimp: Chargement de la palette /home/alain/.gimp-1.2/palettes/Web (ligne 219) : composante VERTE manquante gimp: Chargement de la palette /home/alain/.gimp-1.2/palettes/Web (ligne 219) : composante BLEUE manquante duplicate plug-in: "/usr/lib/gimp/1.2/plug-ins/xsane" (skipping) kcontrol: relocation error: /usr/lib/libGL.so.1: undefined symbol: esa_base_compressed_texformat konqueror: relocation error: /usr/lib/libGL.so.1: undefined symbol: esa_base_compressed_texformat ======================= As you can see, no problem to run GIMP (Gnome-based program) but if I try to run a KDE-based program (Konqueror and kcontrol here) I had problems with /usr/lib/LIBGL.so.1 I could not start KDE (blackbox well but no KDE-based programs). After two reboots, the problem was solved. Thus temporary problem of library access. Is there a more delicate way to solve the problem than two reboots (too much windowsian for me). -- Alain Barthélemy cassandre@bartydeux.be http://www.bartydeux.be Linux User #315631
