Could somebody please offer advice. I have been given the task of installing and trailing UDB v7 on linux. Currently running Suse 7.1.
I went to the IBM site and downloaded both the Personal Edition and DB2 connect. The ftp transfer completed successfully.
I then (as per install instructions) tar'd the files
tar -xvf linuxpecmn.tar db2 tar -xvf linuxcpecmn.tar db2 connect
As a result of the above I now have 2 directories s000510.personal s000510.conpers
All is going according to plan. I am now instructed to run db2setup from each of the above directories.
cd /s000510.personal ./db2setup
I get the following messages written to the screen
sh: ksh: command not found sh: ksh: command not found
Internal error: DBI1502E An error was encountered when opening or reading from file, /tmp/.db2inst.swap.
I know why the installer had a problem reading this file because this file does not exist. I get the same error if I try to install db2 connect aswell.
What should I do to get round this problem.
Many thanks Neil Briggs
