Is your Win7 configured to 120 DPI in display settings, or 96?
It was whatever the original default settings were, which turned out to be 96 dpi.
I guessed Lenovo would have set it to 120, which is close to accurate and should be more usable to more people.
Please save http://fm.no-ip.com/Share/xorg.conf-1600x0900x120 as /etc/X11/xorg.conf, restart X, run that same list of commands,
monte@machin-shin:~> su Password: machin-shin:/home/monte # xrdb -query | grep dpi machin-shin:/home/monte # xdpyinfo | grep resolution resolution: 121x120 dots per inch machin-shin:/home/monte #
report back your overall results impression,
For a given font size, text appears visibly larger in most applications, consistent with the ~125% increase in dpi
Nothwithstanding the subject, which do you prefer? If 120, you can keep it by just leaving xorg.conf in place. Don't feel urged to answer before you've done some web browsing @ 120.

Your 1024x576 image upload sizes have me confused. Does dropbox reduce them from what you uploaded? Can you upload both the originals to http://susepaste.org/ ? WRT subject, there's apparently nothing you can do to improve the situation. You might want to track progress of https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=793565 by adding a CC for yourself. The bug's owner might be inclined to see multiple issues and want the bug split into more than one, since the problem differs somewhat according to DE. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
