I have two SuSE-8.2 boxes, machine-1.host and machine-2.host, and I'd like to use KDE on machine-2 from machine-1. Hence I've configured machine-2 such that it exports X, by setting
DISPLAYMANAGER_REMOTE_ACCESS="yes"
and I've opened all SuSEfirewall ports to machine-1 on the machine-2 host by setting
FW_TRUSTED_NETS="IP of machine-1"
Now, what should I write in machine-1:/etc/inittab for a remote X session to machine-2 to start on tty8 when entering runlevel 5? Or can it be setup in some other fashion? I suppose SuSEconfig will overwrite /etc/inittab anyway?
Thanks in advance
Have you looked at http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/XDMCP-HOWTO/index.html? This is aimed more at running Linux applications on Window. But it tells you most of the settings you need and where to look for more information. -- JDL Non enim propter gloriam, diuicias aut honores pugnamus set propter libertatem solummodo quam Nemo bonus nisi simul cum vita amittit.
