I have an Epson 1260 Perfection 1260 photo scanner, that has worked well until now. Since installing openSUSE 12.3, this scanner no longer works. Any suggestions to get it going? I need it NOW!!!.
tnx jk
Hi James, I have a Perfection 1250 didn't try it since the install of 12.3. After your post I was curious and I tried. It didn't work. yast recognizes the scanner and installs it, but xsane won't find the device. sane-find-scanner says the following: # sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the # result is different from what you expected, first make sure your # scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer. # No SCSI scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that # you have loaded a kernel SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter. could not open USB device 0x057c/0x5601 at 001:003: Access denied (insufficient permissions) found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8 [EPSON], product=0x010f [EPSON Scanner 010F]) at libusb:002:003 could not open USB device 0x046d/0xc52e at 002:002: Access denied (insufficient permissions) could not open USB device 0x1d6b/0x0002 at 001:001: Access denied (insufficient permissions) could not open USB device 0x1d6b/0x0001 at 002:001: Access denied (insufficient permissions) could not open USB device 0x1d6b/0x0001 at 003:001: Access denied (insufficient permissions) could not open USB device 0x1d6b/0x0001 at 004:001: Access denied (insufficient permissions) # Your USB scanner was (probably) detected.
