I am attempting to install SuSE 6.4 on a dual PPro 200 system. I thought I had this running (on this same system) before but now, after I choose the SMP kernel and it reboots, I am getting a kernel panic. Both processors are stepping 7. Following is the boot log, please excuse any spelling errors as I am having to type this in from another machine. <snip> Cpu 0: intel Pentium pro stepping 07 Cpu has booted Before bogomips Total of 2 processors activated (797.08 bogomips) Before bogocount - setting activated = 1 Boot done Enabling symmetric IO mode... done Enabling IO-APIC IRQs ... changing IO-APIC physical APIC ID to 16 kernel panic: could not set ID in swapper task - not syncing </snip> Anyone tell me what this might mean? Or better yet, how I might fix this? Thanks!
