Thanks, Fred. I had found it earlier. It defaults to /tmp off the 5.3 installation. I can't yet get it to work, as in make my CD play music, but it's properly installed and my soundcard is detected. I removed sound support from my kernel as directed. All should be fine. Still, if you see my other note, I have achieved quite a lot today. It's time for sleep. :) Thanks again. I have poked around, asked for man pages, etc. Before I turn to the how-to's, could someone simply shove me in the right direction?
It's in a temp dir Steve.....can't remember the correct path, nor if it's tmp or temp by name. I use the commercial drivers I purchased so the install is different.
