Mplayer ASF streams problem: Update

After reporting that the mplayer plugin for Mozilla seemed not work --and some sleep-- I attempted an asf audio stream using mplayer from the command line. That one works,though it takes roughly 20 seconds or so before starting (the mplayer plugin was given several minutes and would still emit no sound). Any ideas what might be going on, here?
