Hi
For a while now I have been getting email messages that are blank with regards to from. I would like to filter all such messages to the trash. However, creating a filter with blank captures all mails, while creating a filter with "Unknown" captures nothing. I am using kmail 4.14.9. Here an example of the headers taken from one such email
MIME-Version: 1.0 From: Subject: ➤Keep Your Family Insured with Private Medical Insurance Starting as low as £9.99/mo!
Very strange. Maybe a look at all the headers (I don't remember how to look at them in kmail) would be interesting. You'd have to anonymize whatever personal data is there (your own address, perhaps). I may be confused, but blank "from" addresses I think is used by mail daemons in the automatically generated messages sent back when a mail is rejected, I think, so that the rejection message can't be rejected or routed. Something like this... coffee has not waked my mind fully yet. Weird if spammers are using this trick. Wait! I have seen this type of email generated, not sent, by my own ISP directly into my account. It can be detected because there is no "received" trace. Mine does this very rarely, for news related to the service. Like "new webmail service". - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
