Hi,
I've just upgraded my Video card drivers (SuSE 8.0 can't apparently handle an Abit Siluro GeForce 2 MX 400) and now I have to edit XF86Config (why is it called that?) only I'm a bit confused as to what to edit.
The instructions I have is to look for a line like 'Driver "nv"' or 'Driver "vesa"' and replace it with 'Driver "nvidia"' only I can't find that ... the nearest thing I have found are 'Section "Screen"' bits and there are several of those so I don't know what to edit, replace or delete :-(
You should not have to edit anything. You have root permission on your own PC I hope, and you should read the mail that's sent to root. There is one entry there with the subject SuSEconfig: 3ddiag, you should read that one. If you don't bother, just run "switch2nvidia_glx" as root. regards Jónas
