I have seen advice on listservs not to back up to a CD ROM. I never understood why. Why is it a bad idea to use CDROMS as storage media?
They're a bit slow to write to, but other than that I don't see any reason not to. My experience suggests you can't count on CD-RWs for long-term backups...like more than a few years. CD-Rs seem to hold up pretty well as long as you don't expose them to direct sunlight. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
