I know it's off the subject (just), but I still use my OS/2. The interesting thing with OS/2 is that if you talk nicely to their guru's you may find out how to set up shells for '95, '98, NT4, BSD, etc. (I haven't asked mine about Linux yet as I just change over to run it native). I do think that it is becoming dead though, now that Linux is out there, easily used and installed, cheap (thanks to Linus) and stable. I blame IBM for that loss of focus, it could of grown greatly if they were willing to spend some cash on ongoing development rather than using a policy of "it's there, it's completed". You also need to remember that when OS/2 appeared on the desktop, the only other way to have a decent OS was to use a UNIX Mini, and they both cost $$$$$$$ as well as having to have some serious training to use them. csijon ----------

I am thinking about getting rid of my OS/2 partition (my major OS until SuSE 6.0). Does anybody here know if there is an emulator (like wine for windows) that would allow me to run OS/2 apps under Linux ? Since IBM more or less devoted themselves to Linux there might be some development ?!?
I have an OS/2 partition (on my secondary computer) that I haven't used for over six months. What are you using in OS/2 for which there isn't a better version available under Linux?
I'm dubious that anyone these days would find it worthwhile to provide any kind of OS/2 support, seeing as how IBM pretty much dumped it. About its only remaining use, I guess, is in legacy servers. So IBM hasn't been interested in client, i.e., end-user, programs for quite some time.
