Sounds to me like your modem/router was also acting as a wins server and resolving the names of windows boxes that it had issued IPs to. But if you remove it, and use SuSE as the dhcp server and successfully get an IP then the windows boxes will find each other in due time. (Be sure to allow netbui over tcp via the check box). But DON'T install the netbeui protocol. Check your subnet and IP addresses to make sure they are being set correctly. And be aware that windows takes a while to find its network group members. (5 minutes is not unreasonable). Alternative is to get samba set up on the linux box and set it up as OS level 32 or something high and it will be the browse master for you. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen
