I forgot to answer your second question. As root, run yast then select 'system administration' then select 'Login Configuration'. Select ASCII instead of Graphical. Exit yast and next time you start your machine you will be presented with the login prompt instead of X. Avi --On Tuesday, March 20, 2001 13:18:40 -0600 JB <mbvalentine@pdq.net> wrote:
Some of the typed lines in in x windows in my pro-7.1 were either cut off in the middle if the typed line or even looked as though they were even hand written. I ran sax2 in order to hopefully fix that and now my mouse pointer is a big square and I have no control in x windows. I am trying to figure out how to turn off x windows but have not been able to get into the unix like text environment and really don't want to reload for 10 hours again. Does anyone know how I can get back into my system without reloading? Also how can Xwindows be kept from starting automatically.
