Fromthe descriptions on the first site listed below, it looks like
the "Professional" versions is basically the same as what we have been getting, but w/ some other stuff added (i.e. the installation and configuration manuals, etc.). I too hope they don't raise the price much. I does seem strange there isn't anything on the SuSE web sites - and that they've been pretty quiet about this. Oh well.......I'm sure I'll buy it anyway! :) Mike -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael Cleary UNIX Qualification and Commands Data General, a Division of EMC2 62 T.W. Hi all
I am afraid that SuSE's silence is deafening on this matter.
Where did the news that SuSE will distribute two different distributions come from? I wonder if they have leaked the info to test if SuSE customers would be happy with this move?
I understand that there is a market to produce a version without a manual, but I think SuSE do produce a CD set without a manual already, so it looks like plans to produce distros like RH.
I personally purchased SuSE 6 and 6.3 because of the excellent reviews and the good value for money. Hopefully any move to split the distro in to specialist areas will maintain an excellent distro and value for money, otherwise there are plenty of other distros to use.

Hi all, I am afraid that SuSE's silence is deafening on this matter. I would have thought that jumping on the RH bandwagon, i.e. selling a "come and get me" distro on 1 CD for a few $ and charging a lot more for the multi CD "Professional Edition" would be a detrimental move.
