[opensuse] use of "FN" key on toshiba laptop

Using TW latest as of July 26 and XFCE desktop. I purchased a new SSD and installed TW fresh. I've lost the ability to use the "FN" key along with the function key for changing volume, brightness and switching between the LCD/HDMI outputs. Is there a specific package I need to install to restore those features?
