Order of script execution at boot-up.

Hello All, I am trying to set up a script to automatically back up my system whenever it is booted and connected to the network. The backup is onto a network drive, so networking must first be activated. The commands in boot.local are executed before eth0 is activated. What is the order of script education? Thanks, John.
