Use the ustility SAX to configure your X server. After making all your selections you can adjust the height, width and the vert and horz positions. If that doesn't work use xvidtune. This is more tricky so you better read the man pages first.

I have no idea about the refresh rate hortzontal or vertical setting needed in sax. My monitor isnt listed and I spent quite a while combing the net for the specs to no avail at all ALR FlexVIEW 2X svga I did dl the new xf86 package and new mach 64 from SuSEs site I admit the resolution is *much better*, but my monitor still has 1.25 blank on top and .75 blank on the bottom. the actual glass measures 10.5 x 8" desktop-->9.5 x 6.75" I beleive thats called a 14" monitor?? Also, when trying to switch between modes... ctrl&alt&num+ or - dosnt work at all.
