1) Summary: There are some crucial libraries missing from the KDE 1.1.1 rpms on ftp.suse.com.
i don't think so. i upgraded to to 1.1.1 with rpms from ftp.suse.com today. i used yast to to the upgrade without any problems. i did not uninstall anything before hand. so far there is no problems, even kppp is working correctly now (had the helper died bug before). i checked, the files your missing, are there.
Today another batch of KDE 1.1.1 stuff appeared on the ftp server I figured it was a good time to move from KDE 1.1 -> KDE 1.1.1.
Unfortunately attempting this as an upgrade didn't work very well. It was necessary for me to uninstall a few of the original (from the CD) KDE 1.1 packages, namely klibs and corba, in order for the new ones to install.
Me too. I did uninstall the kde 1.1 stuff first this time because of some problems when I installed 1.1 over the top of 1.00. I did not miss any stuff. I did not uninstall QTLib 1.44 this time since the newer kde was based on it anyways. I used kde 1.1.1 one time to check it out... Then quickly went back to E and gnome :) -- Michael Perry mperry@znet.com ---------------------- -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
